In order to determine the composite breeding system of your target species, you need to download the excel file provided in this page. Once you open the file in your computer, read the 'Step-by-step indications' on how to input the data needed for each of the four breeding system indexes (BSI). Then, proceed to the 'Composite Breeding System Calculator Sheet', where you have to enter the data in the appropriate cells. After introducing the data, you will get the values needed to assign the breeding system categories for each of the four BSI. You will find the categories in 'Table 1', provided in a separate sheet. The composite of categories assigned to your species for each of the four BSI represents the composite breeding system of your species, each with its own strenght measure.
